Minnesota. Our home base and a place that is known for its 10,000 lakes. What would surprise many people is that at most times, this upper midwest state regularly has over 50 active and operational mini golf courses. While the long and cold winters limit the outdoor courses to 4-6 months worth of play between April and October, you can easily find a way to putt 365 days a year.

Our initial idea for A Couple of Putts was to provide a handy resource for finding information on the variety of scattered mini golf locations across the globe. We initially struggled to just find reliable details for miniature golf courses in our own state of residence. This led us down a rabbit hole to seek out and document all of the places to putt.

After playing for a number of years, we created the 2018 Top 5 Courses, Putting Guide & Archive. As we’ve continued to find new places far and wide opening and closing, we’ve created a new round up for mini golf across the state:

This page will serve as a hub to collect and update information on Minnesota courses. We’ll add links and updates as we whittle down the list of courses we have yet to either visit or play. This list starts with our top-rated courses based on our review system and a list of places we have not reviewed or played yet. A handful of courses below were courses we visited but we felt comfortable placing them in a review tier based on what we saw.

We have provided info on whether the courses are located in the Twin Cities Metro (30 minutes from Minneapolis or St. Paul) or Outstate Minnesota (which includes a few courses that are less than 30 minutes over the state border into Wisconsin) as well as details of whether the mini golf course is situated indoors or outdoors.
