After a day at Knoebels Amusement Park (which included mini golf), we quickly stopped off at a nearby campground to check out their mini golf course. We saw it on our drive earlier in the day, and from afar, it looked like a quaint classic Americana course. We didn’t have our clubs and were eager to get home, so we decided to only visually document the 18 holes. These types of courses are more and more rare to find in the US, but I remember playing courses like this when I was a kid. You’d have a few obstacles, including classic windmills and loops. Some of the obstacles would move, and others would provide a narrow pathway to the cup. Simple wooden platforms with astroturf were likely purchased at a local hardware store. Not sure how well these surfaces played, but I’d play this if we were back through the area. It’s fun to take a blast to the past and worth going out of your way to take in courses like this while they’re still around.
