Tropical Mini Golf at Big Kahuna’s Water & Adventure Park – Destin, FL

Back in June 2021, we took a long weekend trip to the panhandle of Florida the celebrate my birthday and play lots of mini golf. It turns out that within the area of Pensacola, Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Panama City Beach there are just too many courses to play in one weekend, so we had to settle with some quick visits to courses without actually playing them. That brings us to Tropical Mini Golf at Big Kahuna’s Water & Adventure Park. The entire park is owned by the Boomer’s chain (we’ve played Boomer’s courses in Boca Raton, FL and San Diego, CA) and in this case, the mini golf (three 18-hole courses) is part of the “Adventure Park” along with a Sky Coaster.

From our quick assessment, the courses appeared to surround an impressive central water feature with a large pirate ship. The turf looked to be a bit worn down with some debris on the greens. There were a lot of steps, so these courses are most likely not ADA accessible.

Description from their website:

“Big Kahuna’s picturesque tropical mini golf has 54 challenging holes on three unique courses.

Landscaped with beautiful flowers, sculpted trees and several waterfalls, our majestic courses wind over wooden bridges, through caves and under a dense canopy of tropical flora.

Each course has creative obstacles and authentic wooden Tiki heads, which guard the holes and protect golfers from a stroke of bad luck.”
