In April 2022, we were in the Detroit, MI area to do a shop/site visit for our work on Cranbrook on the Green. In our down time, we travelled slightly north and east of Detroit to the nearby Gratiot/Roseville to play a course we had found. While at a traffic light, we looked over and saw a sign for the Eastin Hotel with the words “Miniature Golf” and naturally, we couldn’t resist. Our curiosity led us through the doors of a seemingly defunct Fitness Center (maybe due to COVID) that is/was part of what is now a Quailty Inn. We made a left turn and headed down a quiet hall to the windows of this mini golf gem.

A facility worker hear/saw us and came over to check in with us. We asked about getting into the mini golf course, which he was not able to, however let us know a brief history. Apparently this glassed in area used to be an Olympic sized indoor swimming pool. The white fence near the middle of the course actually blocks off what was the original hot tub, which is still in tact (but not in use). After some further digging, I was able to find some low-res photos of what this space looked like when it was a pool (see below).

I’m not sure why the course wasn’t open that day but maybe it is now? If you go and play it, please send us your photos!
