Dan’s Miniature Golf – Ballston Lake, NY

Last summer, we took a trip out east to visit family and play lots of miniature golf in PA and upstate NY. After a picturesque summer evening putting and picking sunflowers at Kelder’s Farm, we spent a restful night in a farmhouse AirBNB, and then got up early to head up to Lake George. On our way, we made a detour to Ballston Lake to check out Dan’s Miniature Golf. Although the course doesn’t have a website, we were able to find some information through their Facebook Page.

Birdie – Dan’s is quaint and extremely charming. It’s full of mini golf classics like a windmill, a red loop, moving bowling pins, a church, a barn, a lighthouse and is even accompanied by an adorable trolley car ice cream shop. There were also some unique obstacles that we’ve never seen before such as a wishing well where you have to jump the ball into the bucket. The course was tucked off the main road on a large grassy area shaded with some lovely old trees. The staff was super friendly, and we even got to meet the owner! My biggest complaint about Dan’s is the metal cups. The ball would rim around the edge rather than go into the cup on more than one occasion, adding to some frustration in the game play. There were also some obstacles in need of maintenance, such as the windmill. If you’re looking for a quintessential and low key mini golf experience in Upstate NY, Dan’s is a great place to visit.
