Best Courses We Played for the First Time in 2019

January 1, 2020

Words by Mr. Tee

The last year of this decade was one of the books for us and we finished off the ’10s with a fury of activity. Getting married at the mini golf course where we had our first date, competing on the wildest course we’ve seen on national TV, completing work on three new courses across the USA and playing over 60 new courses throughout the country with friends. We’re still catching our breath and saved our “best of” list to kick-off 2020. We have yet to give full reviews to many of these courses but you can expect them to pop up on A Couple of Putts to start the year.

Now on to our favorites….

#1 – Holey Moley Season 1 – Santa Clarita, CA  – Nothing further affirmed our love of the game of mini golf than competing and experiencing this larger-than-life course.

#2 – Around The World / Around The USA – Lake George, NY – Regularly considered one of the best and most unique mini golf courses in the entire world. Review coming soon!

#3 – Mount Atlanticus – Myrtle Beach, SC  – Our number one recommended course to play if you’re in the heart of the capital of mini golf. One of the wildest and largest courses we’ve ever played.

#4 – Sir Goony Golf – Lake George, NY – One of the last of this classic mini golf chain. It takes us back to our former local Goony Golf that is sadly now defunct.. Review coming soon!

#5 – Nelson-Atkins Art Golf – Kansas City, MO  – Artist-designed and art-inspired mini golf on a grand scale in the heart of Kansas City. And we were lucky to get to consult on it! Review coming soon!

#6 – Bull City Mini – Durham, NC – Community-designed and inspired pop-up in the heart of Durham. This was a really fun course to work on from conception to completion!

#7 –  Castle Park – Sherman Oaks, CA – The best part about this course was playing it before and after filming for Holey Moley and sharing the experience with new friends!

#8 –  Golf N Stuff – Ventura, CA – Like its sister course in Norwalk, Golf N Stuff is one our favorite of the larger-than-life theme park-esque West Coast style mini golf courses.

#9 – Smiley’s Mini Haunts – Lenexa, KS – Spooky themed but solidly challenging putting experience.

#10 – Philly Mini Golf at Franklin Square Park – Philadelphia, PA – Putt your way through Philadelphia’s famous landmarks including the Art Museum stairs made famous in the Rocky movies.
