Over the last two years, we had the extremely fun job of consulting with Benjamin Owens and Julie Bryce on their dream of opening a community-designed, Durham themed mini golf course called Bull City Mini. After a lot of hard work, flexibility, grit and passion, we want to congratulate them on their opening back on May 11th, 2019 (National Miniature Golf Day)! We were in Durham just two weeks before that to test play the course and help them wrap up loose ends, so our photos are a mix of our own as well as some provided by Bull City Mini of the completed space.

Rating

Hole-in-One – We are biased given we helped advise, select hole designs and consult on fabrication and gameplay for this course, but it truly is a southern darling. Durham locals submitted designs based on Durham landmarks and history. Locally-based fabricators Point Concepts built the holes. Durham artists painted murals throughout the space. It’s clear that Ben and Julie truly love Durham and have brought unique, family-friendly fun to the iconic American Tobacco Campus. When you visit Bull City Mini, you can play seven holes of creative mini golf, sip on frose or local brews and enjoy the hip patio that sits just outside of the Durham Bulls stadium. And with a price tag of only $7 for 7 holes, this one-of-a-kind experience truly is a bargain.
