Colorado Journey Mini Golf – Littleton, CO

Played June 30, 2018

Reviewed by Mr. Tee

Our first day of minigolf in the Denver area started superbly with Adventure Golf and Raceway. Our buddy Chuck joined in on the fun and we were blown away by animatronic trees and flaming volcanoes. Pre-travel research uncovered numerous additional options to play miniature golf in Colorado but it was hard to distinguish which establishments rose to the cream of the crop. Chuck recommended Colorado Journey at Cornerstone Park in the Denver metro suburbs. It was his personal favorite and he thought we’d love it. With a stellar recommendation, the two of us eagerly jumped in the car to our next stop.

Rating

Hole-in-One – We’ve seen mini golf course projects initiated by cities and park boards in our own town and throughout our travels. Aside from Sparkle City Mini Putt, the results have been less than impressive so far. Colorado Journey is a shining exception and a must play course if you’re in the Denver area. Two 18-hole courses take you throughout an immersive experience where there is equal parts whimsy, putting challenge and history of Colorado. The multi-tiered environment and holes take you through many of the famous natural attractions the state is known for. Both courses are laid out in a way that each new hole unveils a new surprise. You might have to cross a bridge, climb up a hill, or traverse water before you see what comes next. The sound effects and spinners are implemented throughout the courses to keep players engaged even if they aren’t interested in the putting aspect of the game. Sub-optimal weather and rain showers couldn’t spoil the fun for us. Much like Adventure Golf, our only regret was that we didn’t have enough time to fully play both of the courses.
