In late August of 2025, I spent a week in Sundsvall, Sweden, right next to their local mini golf/adventure golf course run by the Sundsvall Bangolfklubb. The whole Söderlund family and numerous club members / top mini golfers in the world were kind enough to show me around the course and made me feel at home. At times I worked remotely at the course and then hopped on to share rounds with some of the best putters in the entire world. I’m separating my reviews between the red and green courses because I took so many photos and videos. I also shared an ace video below of all the holes that are beyond anything I could ever make. I played in friendly local competitions on two of the mornings I was in Sundsvall. The club hosts members of the community who are mostly retired for a peaceful and pleasant way to start your day.
Rating

The mini golf courses built by the Swedish CityGolf company and maintained by the diligent club members are easily the best competitive courses in the world. The consistency and quality are top-notch. The care for the gameplay, ambiance, condition, and facilities is second to none. The idyllic setting and atmosphere can be credited equally to the club and the surrounding community. The green course is the “easier” of the courses. Most of the holes have drop pockets (aka the area surrounding the cup that helps the ball funnel in) and others have a path to the cup that can be mastered by top players. Each of the holes (called lanes) includes signage with tips showing the path to a hole-in-one. #5 is the most “crazy” / novelty hole where you have to jump over the water just right to keep the ball near the cup. You can see me ace it below and read about the local rule that helps keep you from taking forever to get to the cup. The inside of the clubhouse was in pristine condition and had a great variety of treats, snacks, and history of the course.
