A very, very fun and long day of mini golf adventures that took me from watching the 2019 Masters to Captain Hook’s, Jurassic Golf, Cap N Cain, and the outdoor course at Molten Mountain ended in a speedy 2nd round on the indoor course at Molten Mountain as it was closing. Rudy had already befriended the staff person and they allowed our band of mini goofballs to zip through the indoor volcanic tropical-themed course to punctuate the day.
Rating
Myrtle Beach has an endless amount of mini golf but few indoor options. Molten Mountain’s confines not only provide an escape from the elements but has some pretty fun mini golf. The tropical vibe was well executed and the red-colored water adds a nice little visual reference to the volcano theme. For better or worse, the tropical-themed mini golf course can be found in abundance in this miniature golf packed town. This isn’t a negative by any means but it definitely makes it hard for courses to rise to the level of being exceptional/must-play mini golf. Molten Mountain’s indoor course is a better-than-average course and a fantastic option if the normally beachy weather of Myrtle Beach isn’t around.

Pros
One of the few fully indoor options in Myrtle Beach
Well executed volcano/tropical theme
Solid variety of holes
Cons
The tropical theme feels a bit overused in the Myrtle Beach area and in general
Nerdy Notes
- Two 18-hole courses. Outdoors = Pele’s Revenge. Indoor = Lava Louie’s. Both Par 36
- Urethane putters with a variety of color balls
- Part of the group of courses located on https://paradiseadventuregolf.com/ that includes Cancun Lagoon & Mutiny Bay
- Not ADA accessible. Many stairs and little terrain could be accessed via wheelchair.
