Revisiting Peter Pan Mini Golf (West Course) – Austin, TX

Played on January 1st, 4th & 7th, 2021

Reviewed by Mr. Tee

When we were thinking of a safe and distanced pandemic road trip, Austin quickly jumped to the top of the list as a destination. Not only was it likely to be the warmest place we could safely drive during the dead of winter but it was easily the best option when it came to food and mini golf. I had previously been to town 9 times for SXSW and never really got to soak in the city outside of seeing live music. The last time I was in Austin, I played the west course and prior to that, I played the east course in 2013 but never had a chance to enjoy the course with The Pink Putter. After watching play during the summer of 2020 on the web series Hardcore Mini Golf, I was determined to get in much more time on one of my all-time favorite courses.

Rating

Not a ton new to say about this course. I get older and Peter Pan stays the same age. Since we were in town for a week, I opted to play each course multiple times. I think I may slightly like the west side more due to the ant singing on a taco, massive T-Rex, and signature Peter Pan statue. While the turf is nearing time to be replaced and some of the holes have some wild breaks, the charm of this course wins the day. If you’re passing through Austin, grab some friends and head over to Peter Pan.
