It was my birthday in the year of social distancing, so we decided to pack a picnic lunch and take a low key day trip up to the Taylors Falls area of Minnesota to hit up a few mini golf courses. Our first stop was St. Croix Falls Mini Golf & Go Karts in Wisconsin, just a short drive over the border. We tried to get there early to avoid crowds, but upon our arrival just before noon, there was already a steady flow of traffic on the course.
Rating
Par – This is a classic Harris course. For those of you unfamiliar, Harris is a company based out of Wildwood, NJ that makes cookie-cutter mini golf courses around the country. They are immediately recognizable by the style of rocks and water features, lack of unique obstacles and an iconic sign at the start of the course. Some other Harris courses we’ve played include Manatawny Green, Castlegate, Captain’s Course and Lahey Family Fun Park. St. Croix Falls was not much different than others that we have played. There was a central water feature, a few holes with some interesting game play, but mostly this course consisted of standard putting with rock obstacles and some rough patches of turf here and there.
