Wheels Fun Park Mini Golf – Durham, NC

Played December 1, 2018

Reviewed by Mr. Tee

When we travel, we play mini golf. Good. Bad. Middle of the road. We’ll play it all. Less than ideal weather conditions doesn’t phase us. This is what led us to play mini golf at Wheels Fun Fun Park in Durham, North Carolina. The course has a very small presence online and when we mentioned the course to locals, they only knew of rollerskating at this establishment.

Rating

Sandtrap – To be fair, we played this course in the off-season in early December in the rain. The Pink Putter was not keen on my insistence in playing after we had played a mint condition Putt-Putt course in Burlington, NC earlier in the day but nevertheless, we putted. The nearly 30-year-old course has seen far better days. Simple green turf surrounded by red bricks in a solid variety of shapes and sizes. In addition to the maintenance issues that could be attributed to rain and time of year,  several holes had significant turf damage. My guess is that the turf has never been replaced and given the style and condition, I’m guessing the 18 holes are 20 or so years old. A little brickwork and new carpet could get this joint up to par in no time.

If the garbage can a highlight, then the course is probably not so hot
