Aquaboulevard de Paris Minigolf – Paris, France

Played June 17, 2023

Reviewed by Mr. Tee

We initially found only two miniature golf facilities, Mad Golf and Parc de Floral, in Paris before our trip there in the summer of 2023. Given we had a full week in Paris and the weather was quite steamy, we had looked into finding a public pool. In our online search, we stumbled upon a waterpark called Aquaboulevard. Much to our surprise, they also had an attached mini golf course so it seemed silly not to check it out.

Note: Upon arriving, I was asked to show my swimsuit to the person taking tickets. You are not allowed to wear the looser fitting swimsuits that are common in the US so I was required to purchase a different suit in their on-site shop in order to use the pools. There is a photo below and despite them showing off my pasty legs, they fit well and I didn’t mind them.

Rating

Just outside the main city center of Paris and about 30 minutes by train from the Eiffel Tower is the indoor/outdoor waterpark facility, Aquaboulevard. At the time of review, the facility cost around USD 40 per person for entry and the mini golf courses were around maybe $5 or so per person. I imagine the staff may be generous and also allow you to play both courses for that price given the courses won’t be too busy due to their poor condition. Both courses are located outdoors on the backside of the facility near the snack bar. The photos below tell most of the story. It’s two traditional adventure golf courses with green synthetic turf and bricking. A few caves and some palm trees give it a little ambiance. The layouts of the holes and creative cup placements would make this a challenging course under ideal conditions but this course is both beat up and the carpet is beyond worn out. To make it worse, most of the greens were covered in debris and in many cases made some of the holes unplayable. Some rehab and new turf could turn this course into an appealing option for the public but right now, both courses are merde. Fingers crossed these courses get some much-needed love.

Happy to be at the pool on a hot Paris day
Guess what they call mini golf in France? Le Mini Golf!

Course 1 – Yellow Course

The yellow course was the first one we tackled. Sign has seen much better days
Pink Putter aims to avoid the sand spilling on to the course
Palm trees are a nice tough but the carpet is quite weathered
This would be a challenging hole layout under ideal conditions
Talk about a tough hole to ace!
Very narrow path to the cup
Probably best to layup given the turf conditions
Clever cup layout before the lumps
The spacing on the bricks would make this a super tough hole to ace
Cup is near the back of the hole. Not sure why one would ever go through these super narrow openings
One of several jump holes
Two paths to the cup with lots of debris in every direction
Out of the sun and into the cave
Maybe the most mold I’ve seen on a single hole
We made a bet who would get this in less strokes. I think I won with a 5.
Not sure that the narrow path in front of the cup would ever be worth the risk for a low percentage ace.
Final hole!

Course 2 – Red Course

On to the 2nd course! The Pink Putter opted not to play
Pretty certain I missed this deuce putt
Can’t believe I was able to ace any of these holes!
Another nice cave hole to get away of the sun
When you struggle to find the cup, you know you’re done for the day
Metal house putters
Avert your eyes! I was required to buy more form-fitting swim trunks due to pool rules
Full on waterpark and beach outdoors
You could purchase mini golf at this snack bar near the outside pools
Indoors pools are perfect year round and there is a massive fake whale nearby

Comments
Condition of greens is rough due to worn out turf and debris
Hole layouts and cup placement make this a challenging course for aces under normal conditions
Extra price on top of the waterpark is only worth it under the current conditions if you’re a mini golf addict
Whole course needs a serious overhaul and then much better maintenance

Nerdy Notes

  • 2 18-hole courses. Par 35.
  • One course is designated by yellow signs and the other red signs
  • The fee to play mini golf is in addition to the entrance fee to the waterpark. We don’t remember the amount but it was nominal.
