Ever since we saw articles about this pop-up course designed by artist duo Craig & Karl back in early 2022, we added it to our “must play” bucket list. I’m happy to report that in June 2023, we finally made it across the pond and got a chance to visit and play this mini golf experience at Canary Wharf in London.
Rating
I want to start first and foremost by saying that this course is 100% free to play. You literally just walk up and a worker will pleasantly ask you if you’d like to play, then hand you a ball and putter. They’ll encourage you to jump around holes when it’s busy. There is no doubt about it, this course is worth way more than its price of admission. While small in space, it makes a big punch. Bright, poppy colors combined with fun patterns and compact, yet clever game play make for a fun contrast to the surrounding concrete and modern skylines of the business district. The holes are ace-able, making it accessible for players of all ages. They are also mini playgrounds, proven by our witnessing a little girl crawling through the colorful arches on hole 8 as if they were the gates to another world. If you find yourself in London and the world is lucky enough to see this course come back for a third summer, definitely go out of your way to make a visit.
