Back in June 2021, we took a long weekend trip to the panhandle of Florida the celebrate my birthday and play lots of mini golf. It turns out that within the area of Pensacola, Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Panama City Beach there are just too many courses to play in one weekend, so we had to settle with some quick visits to courses without actually playing them. That brings us to Fantasy Golf at Emerald Falls, two 18-hole courses that are part of a larger family recreation center on Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach.
From what we could see from the sidewalk, this course doesn’t look too much different than some of the many other options in the area. The gameplay appeared to consist of mostly contoured greens with brick walls. The landscaping included lots of wooden bridges and stairs and featured a giant central waterfall and fiberglass octopus, which was a fun visual addition and from what we could tell, the only truly interesting thing on this course.
