Words by the Pink Putter
Back in June 2021, we took a long weekend trip to the panhandle of Florida the celebrate my birthday and play lots of mini golf. It turns out that within the area of Pensacola, Destin, Fort Walton Beach, and Panama City Beach there are just too many courses to play in one weekend, so we had to settle with some quick visits to courses without actually playing them. That brings us to our fast visit to Fast Eddies Fun Center. This 9-hole course is a “Micro Golf” course, fabricated by COST Theme and Speciality Construction Services of Wisconsin (much like the greens at the former Big Thrill Factory in MN & City Golf in Chicago as well as at Shipwrecked in NYC). The foam and concrete-based holes are set out onto a wood decking embellished by fake palm trees, thatched umbrellas, and other tropical knick-knacks.
From their website:
“The whole family will enjoy this fun-filled challenging 9 Hole course!
Our Funtastic miniture golf course presents an exciting challenge for any age. Enjoy an afternoon of playing putt putt mini-golf on our beautifully landscaped 9-Hole course themed around the Tropical Gulf Coast. With obstacles, twists, and turns see who becomes the next golf legend in your family.
Don’t forget that we will supply the ball and putter. You bring the stroke!”
