Back in June 2021, we took a long weekend trip to the panhandle of Florida the celebrate my birthday and play lots of mini golf. It turns out that within the area of Pensacola, Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Panama City Beach there are just too many courses to play in one weekend, so we had to settle with some quick visits to courses without actually playing them. That brings us to Pirate’s Island Adventure Golf, two 18-hole pirate themed mini golf courses.
From what we could tell from the sidewalk, Pirate’s Island Adventure is comparable to the chain of Pirate’s Cove courses that can be found around the country (and from what we can tell might be owned by the same folks). Holes consist of contoured greens, there is a central waterfall feature, caves, bridges and most obviously, pirate theming throughout. Of the courses in the area, this one appeared to be in pretty good condition and had we had time and energy, we may have actually played a round here.
From their website: “For over 38 years our guests have enjoyed lush tropical landscaping, bubbling streams, rushing waterfalls in a themed environment that values nature and family enjoyment. Trip Advisor has endowed us the highest ratings they offer, their Certificate of Excellence, and we pride ourselves in clean restrooms, immaculate grounds and unparalleled customer service. We are affiliated with a group of adventure golf courses that stretch from Maine to Florida, Alabama to South Dakota. Each is unique, but all adhere to standards that lead the adventure golf industry and bring quality, family-oriented values and entertainment to all guests that visit with us.”
