In August of 2021, we took a vacation on Long Beach Island with my family, something we did often when I was a kid but hadn’t done in at least 20 years. I was excited to visit all of the mini golf courses on the island, one of those being Sandbar Golf. We got to play this course with one of my best friends Maggie and her two kiddos, Q and J.
Rating
Sandbar Golf is a quintessential Harris Miniature Golf course. For those of you new to our reviews, Harris is a design and build company and their courses can be found all across the country. Their courses are pretty standard putting greens with water features, rock or wood obstacles, and similar layouts and challenges no matter where you play them. It is often up to course owners to add any custom embellishments. Sandbar is clean and well maintained, has lovely landscaping, and is a relatively quick play. However, aside from the unique illustrated signage and a giant painted clam, there isn’t too much else that gives this course a unique sense of place and skyrockets it into a top rating, especially when some of those courses are right down the street.
