During our winter road trip of 2021 down to Austin, TX, we stopped by Duke’s Adventure Golf for a round of putting.
Rating
Duke’s is a classic Harris designed course with a few personal touches including a themed watermill, hole signage and a fun, flashy roadside sign. You may even recognize it as the backdrop from the date scene with Isha and Michael in episode 4 of Twentysomethings: Austin on Netflix.
If you’ve read any of our other reviews, you know that we can find Harris courses to be a bit run of the mill. They can be found all over the country and are all quite similar in regards to gameplay and layout. Many are in poor shape and most lack a unique personality. However, I think it’s fair to say that Duke’s is one of the best Harris courses we’ve played to date, both in regards to its condition as well as themed extras. And while there are certainly more original courses in the Austin area (think Peter Pan and Dreamland), Duke’s is a solid mini golf experience.
Pros
Clean and well maintained
Fun themed extras including hole signage and watermill building
Challenging and varied game play
Cons
Not the most unique course in the Austin area
