Celebration Station – Oklahoma City, OK

Played on December 29, 2020

Reviewed by the Pink Putter

In late 2020/early 2021, Mr. Tee and I took a road trip down south to escape the Minnesota winter. While our final destination was Austin, TX, we made some stops in Oklahoma along the way. While most of the courses we visited were closed for the season, Celebration Station on the outskirts of Oklahoma City was open, so we stopped by to play a few rounds.

Rating

Celebration Station is a chain of Family Entertainment Centers located in Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, Texas and lastly, Oklahoma. Their OKC location has three 18-hole mini golf courses (Course A, Course B and Course C), all of which have a western theme. Because the game play and theming on all of the courses are so similar, we’re reviewing them together as one. The mini golf at this Celebration Station would fall into the category of what we typically deem as “West Coast Style” – the greens are dropped in below sidewalks which are dotted with colorful lights. The game play was mostly straight forward, with some humps, berms and pipes adding to the challenge. Some of the holes had small water hazards or simple obstacles such as wagon wheels, metal cans and painted wood blocks. The courses were decorated with some faux western facades and a conestoga wagon. In the middle of Courses A and B was a small “mountain” which had on it a central water feature, holes 16 and 17 for both courses and more faux western town facades. Because we played in the off season, the weather was bleak and the course greens were in rough shape (landscape debris, flooding, etc.) This would be a great place to brings kids for a birthday party or to run around, but it is definitely not a course we’d recommend going out of your way to play.
