Bison Creek Miniature Golf – Buffalo, MN

Played on August 1, 2020

Towards the end of the pandemic summer of 2020, we took a short day trip out to Buffalo, MN to play Bison Creek.

Rating

This classic Harris style course is part of a larger complex called Huikko’s Bowl and is located behind the parking lot behind the bowling alley. The course itself is clean and fairly well maintained. There is a central waterfall and cave with the main feature being the giant buffalo sculpture standing on top. Small ponds and rivers trickle throughout the course. While the game play is fairly straightforward, some holes have elements like rock obstacles, hills, water play or a figure 8 to add some challenge. Two custom bowling-themed benches sit on the course at hole 1 and near hole 9 that add an extra element of fun. There are also a few store bought lawn ornaments and trinkets set in hazard areas. The turf was a bit worn and the course isn’t unique, but it’s one of the few in the area.
