With Goony Golf and Around the World on the top of the “must play” list for us in the greater Lake George Area in Upstate New York, we had to pick and choose which courses we could play in less than 24 hours in this destination lake town. Just not enough time in the day to play them all sometimes. As we’d already played and visited several other Pirate’s Cove franchise locations over the years, this joint and the Lake George Pirate’s Cove course did not make the cut. A massive boat in the water, caves, cannons, and swashbuckling kitsch the franchise is known for highlight this course. More expansive than the nearby Lake George 18-hole facility with both a Blackbeard’s & Captain’s Course. Each space stays on-brand for the nationwide pirate-themed chain. Green turf. Redbrick walls. Metal cups. Plus, a whole lotta pirates. Arghh!
This pair of pirate-themed courses are less than a city block from the Fun Spot 18 hole course.
Once again we lined up our photos with 1970s photo icon John Margolies to show how the course looked back in the day compared to today.
