Beaver Run Resort Mini Golf – Breckenridge, CO

Played July 1  & 7, 2018

Reviewed by Mr. Tee

Aside from the two mini golf holes we have installed in our backyard, we have usually had to travel a bit to get our putt on. During The Pink Putter’s summer artist residency in Breckenridge, we had the opportunity to lodge one of the largest ski resorts in the area, Beaver Run. I played all of the nearby outdoor courses at Vail and Beaver Creek but through a stroke of good luck, we both had an additional option just a few floors from our room. To top it off, the course was open till late at night and was FREE! Even our pup, Ruggles, could check it out.

Par – Rarely do you expect an indoor mini golf course in a hotel. Sometimes you can find a small practice green intended for golfers. Not this hotel. Beaver Run had 6 holes themed around this large ski resort. Sure, they have short walls that allow for the balls to fly off the platforms easily but the clever use of ski/snowboarding gear, soft play sculptures, and large rocks provide some variety in this truncated course. During the snow-filled winter months, we appreciate having a place to putt and given it’s free, how can we complain?

Soft spot for any hotel arcade
Lay of the land. Putters and balls provided.
Ski theme makes sense at a major skiing destination
Clever use of common items for obstacles
Thought there may be more holes in Building 1 but I was wrong
Staying on theme with the snowboards
Narrow path between to the cup
Final hole took me forever to get a hole in one
