Boondocks Food & Fun Mini Golf – Parker, CO

Played on July 10, 2018

The next stop on our Denver area mini golf excursion took place in the back of a giant suburban parking lot of Parker, CO. Joined bright and early by Chuck and his wife Febra, we made our way to Boondocks, a family entertainment complex akin to places like Boomers and Big Thrill Factory. This mega fun center opened at the end of December in 2016, so at just a year and a half old, it still had that brand new sparkle. With bowling, an arcade, a dark ride, laser tag, bumper boats, go karts and two outdoor 18-hole mini golf courses, Boondocks certainly offers many attractions.

Rating

Birdie – This fresh, new, clean and well-maintained pirate themed course is packed full of fun and challenging game play, thematic props and interactive obstacles. Caves, waterfalls, waterways and a giant skull all add to the surrounding environment. In fact, this course is so pristine that it almost qualifies for a Hole-in-One rating, however I’m going to give it a Birdie due to its generic feel and lack of shade. Of the many, many pirate themed courses we’ve played across the country, I definitely feel like I’ve played a version of this course before and that it could be located just about anywhere. Pro tip – get there early before the crowds to enjoy the course to yourself. As we were ending our game, the first nine holes were starting to get really busy.

Walking by this beautiful blue pool on a hot summer morning definitely made me want to go for a swim!
