We are excited to announce that the Walker Art Center is doing another artist-designed course this summer and we are thrilled to once again be a part of it. This year’s course is comprised of a few favorites from last year (including Tilt-a-Putt, Gopher Hole, Move-Your-Hole, 18-holes-in-one and Rock! the Garden) as well as 10 brand new hole designs from Minnesota artists, architects, designers…and us!
The course will be open daily, beginning May 22, Thurs.-Sat. 10am-10pm and Sun.-Weds. 10am-8pm.
Prices: SINGLE COURSE (9 HOLES): $12 adults, $10 students ($9 Walker members, children ages 7–12). FULL COURSE (18 HOLES): $18 adults, $15 students ($13.50 Walker members, children ages 7–12). Free for ages 6 and under with paid adult. Every ticket includes free gallery admission (up to $14 value) for each golfer. Tee times are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis; no advanced reservations.
Our design is titled “Don’t Blow It!” and will be the 18th hole, a classic last shot that collects the balls at the end of your game. Make it up the ramp and into the coin-slot of this giant gumball-turned-minigolf ball machine. If you succeed, you will be reward with a hole-in-one as well as a chance to see your ball spiral down and possibly ring some bells. If not, your ball will be funneled away and disappear forever. This year, the Walker is taking over the fabrication end of things. We got this sneak preview of the base of the gumball machine getting lathed…we can’t wait to see how the rest turns out!
