Back in spring of 2022, Mr. Tee and I were in the Detroit area to play the then newly installed Cranbrook on the Green, a course that we had designed for the Cranbrook Art Museum in Bloomfield Hills, MI. After the opening event, we sought out an extra round at Sport N Fun in the neighboring Farmington Hills. This location is/was part of the official Putt Putt franchise and consists of three courses. We played two of them.

Rating

As fans of the increasingly rare Putt Putt style courses, we enjoyed playing our way through two of the three courses that Sport N Fun had to offer. If you’re familiar with Putt Putt, you know that every hole is a par 2 and the game play consists of skilled bank shots, hills, angles, ramps, narrow channels, jumps, loops and more. Some of the holes included fun obstacles such as a classic loop and barn structure with a timed door shot. The property and courses were adorned with fun decor such as giant fiberglass giraffes, elephants and a jumbo mini golf balls, in addition to hand painted signs, all of which add to the charm. We played all dressed up in our party clothes at dusk on a warm spring night, which added a bit of magic to the ambiance.
