Each winter we try to plan a winter trip in January or February to escape the frigid temps and little temps in our home state of Minnesota. Many friends had talked about how much they loved going to Palm Springs over the years. Since neither of us had been there before, we made the journey to Sonoran Desert of southern California known for its hot springs, stylish hotels, golf courses, and spas for some sun, fun, and even a little mini golf.
Rating
Since the beginning, we’ve always favored the classic West Coast-styled courses with big castles and theming. We found out later that many of these courses were built by Castle Golf. The courses they build are consistent, fun, and usually challenging. Each course usually has a large feature that you play through pipes to the lower green or in some cases for an automatic hole-in-one. This course didn’t have the automatic hole-in-ones like Golf N Stuff but has a similar variety of gameplay across large and long playing areas. Aside from the massive landmarks on each course, the holes blend together across the facility. This isn’t a bad thing and you can see the subtly in the variety of gameplay as well as some similarly styled holes that are fairly common at Castle built courses. The desert setting and nearby mountains combined with the course lighting make it a really beautiful place at night as well as during the day. While there is little relief from the sun on the course, the large castle serves as the clubhouse and arcade. The additional amenities including bumper boats and go-karts make this family entertainment center a great destination if you’re in the area. We didn’t find any other mini golf options in Palm Springs but fortunately, the facility has 3 great courses that should satisfy your putting needs.
