Visited Fall 2022 and played July 28, 2023

In the fall of 2022, we headed north of the Twin Cities to take in the changing colors of the trees and get away for a long weekend in a relaxed and beautiful setting. On our way up to Two Harbors, we stopped off in Duluth to eat at one of our favorite places, Duluth Grill, and made a pit stop on the edge of Duluth in Proctor to check out a newly built course called Rogue Eagle. I had read about this course being built a few years ago and that it was going to be built by the Harris Miniature Golf company. Despite the weather being chilly and some early snowfall, we made a quick stop to check it out. The Pink Putter bought what became one of her favorite pink sweatshirts and talked with the owners. A little less than a year later, I drove up to play a local league event to see if people were interested in competitive mini golf. In 2024, the American Mini Golf Alliance (AMA) hopes to add an event at Rogue Eagle after seeing an appetite for locals to have competitive events where something is at stake.
Rating
Despite not playing the course on our first visit, we left with an impression that not only was this one of the better Harris course builds but that it was a unique course due to the custom signage and theming. After playing the course the next year, I was left with the impression that this is an excellent course for competitive mini golf as well as a fun night out for the public at large. The setting in Proctor just perched over Lake Superior and Duluth is lovely on its own but the cute little cafe and ice cream shop makes it more of a destination. The owners of the course put in the effort to give the typical Harris course layout a little personality like Salty Seagull. I always enjoy visiting the Greater Duluth/Superior area and I’d say Rogue Eagle would be my top recommendation along with Kendahl for mini golf options when you’re up there.
