On our June 2021 Florida panhandle birthday weekend mini golf extravaganza, our goal was to find as visit as much mini golf as possible. And while we found a lot, we didn’t have time to play them all, one being Coconut Creek Family Fun Park in Panama City Beach. This course has beautiful curb appeal. The view from the main road features a large waterfall, rolling greens and a menagerie of fiberglass animals that are perfectly placed. Everything on this safari-themed course looks pristine and immaculate. The playing greens themselves looked to be more simple and didn’t appear to have any of the theming integrated into the game play, rather they utilized large boulders, wood pilings and varied terrain to create putting challenges. We parked and headed up to a deck that overlooked the giant maze, hoping to get a good view of the course, but realized that the only good view is the one from the main road. We also asked the staff if we could hop onto the course to take some photos. We were even willing to buy a t-shirt in exchange for this. But we were swiftly declined and told we could only get onto the course if we were going to play a round. After already having played multiple rounds in the hot sun all day long, we didn’t have it in us to play 18 holes at Coconut Creek.
