On our first getaway from home during the 2020 pandemic, we headed “Up North” to the Brainerd area with our pup Ruggles in tow. We took a quick detour through Deerwood, MN to see what Traditions mini golf had to offer. While we couldn’t sneak in a full round given the dog couldn’t join us while we played, we documented the course.
For a little history, the current course owner Randy purchased Traditions in 2013 and gave us a little history on the course during a quiet Thursday afternoon. He explained that the course was built in 2006 and opened in 2007. Visually it looked like a Harris Miniature Golf designed and installed course and this was confirmed by both the Harris standard rules sign and by the operator Randy. The added covered bridge, signs, and metal wind vane gave this run of the mill Harris style a little personality. Definitely planning on popping in to putt next time we’re in the area.
