The mini golf course at Kart Kountry was one of our stops during our early July trip to northern Minnesota. This Family Fun Park is known predominately for its multiple Go-Kart tracks, but the complex also includes attractions such as rock climbing, bumper boats, trampolines, bungee bouncers, batting cages, virtual reality and of course, 18-holes of mini golf know as the Raceway Course.
Rating
Par – With its primary color palette and giant tire prop, the Raceway Course has some unique curb appeal. However, after playing a round, it’s clear that mini golf is not the main attraction at Kart Country. The greens themselves have the feeling of a hollow bounce when you step on them, which we would guess is a layer of foam below the turf. The design is fairly straightforward and consists of curves and slopes, enhanced by obstacles such as faux rocks and rubber tires. On some of the holes, the turf looks brand news, and on others, it was well worn and peeling away. The gameplay was a mix of challenging and frustrating. On the plus side, the course was pretty quiet, as there were only two other groups out the entire time we were playing. It’s only $6.50/round, so if you’re looking for an off the beaten path, no-frills and budget-friendly mini golf option in the Brainerd area, give Kart Kountry a try.
