Philly Mini Golf – Philadelphia, PA

Played on August 25th, 2019

When we planned a trip to the east coast to visit family and play mini golf last August, the ultimate destination was to visit Lake George in Upstate, NY. And so we did. And after a lovely weekend in the Adirondacks, we drove our rental car back down to the Philadelphia Airport to catch our flight home, but not without a quick stop to play a round at Philly Mini Golf in Franklin Square Park.

Rating

This is another course that had been on our radar for quite some time. Growing up in the Lehigh Valley, Mr. Tee and I visit friends and family in eastern PA about once or twice a year, so I knew we’d get here at some point. This course features oversized obstacles and theming around local landmarks including the Liberty Bell, the famous art museum steps, the LOVE sculpture, Elfreth’s Alley, the Ben Franklin Bridge and many more. The renditions of local buildings are fabricated with impeccable attention to detail and made at a scale that makes players feel like they are fully immersed in the environment. The holes were designed with a good variety of game play challenges and many of them utilize the themed elements to enhance the putting experience. Some of the holes were fairly basic putts that used slopes instead of obstacles. Everything was clean and fairly well maintained, with the exception of a few leaves on the greens. If you’re in the Philly area, we definitely recommend going out of your way to swing by Franklin Square Park for some mini golf.
