Earlier this summer, we had heard about a new mini golf course opening in Cambridge, MN. With the long holiday weekend ahead of Labor Day, we got a chance to drive up to check it out with our friends Joe Holme and David Perdue of the Minne Golf Monthly club.

Rating:

Par – Being brand new, the course is extremely clean and well-maintained. However, being the latest doesn’t always mean it’s the greatest. The cinder-block lined greens are designed with extreme curves, turfed “sandtraps”, slopes, undulations and double and triple piped tiers. All of these factors lead to unpredictable bounces and challenging game play, even for seasoned mini golfers. The undecorated greens and bleak mulch landscaping left a lot to the imagination. A handful of canopies and trellises were a nice touch that provided occasional moments of shade over the otherwise wide open course. A few flower pots scattered throughout added small bursts of color. Overall, this is a solid course to practice one’s putting skills, but it’s standard, out-of-the-box feel could benefit from a bit more color and fun.
