Drive By – Our holiday feast of mini golf across the Orlando area did prove to have its limitations. We had to pick and choose which courses we would play in our limited time. Unfortunately, Congo River did not make the cut this trip. The International Drive location we popped by was one of eight Florida locations for this small franchise. The crashed plane and large waterfall exterior make it appealing for a future trip but we were a bit surprised to see Congo River was voted “Best in Florida”. The design and layout from afar made it an upgrade from nearby Pirate’s Cove locations but Congo River was nowhere as impressive as the 3 Disney and 2 Universal Studios courses we played earlier on this trip. To be fair, we’d put those 5 standout courses in a future list of top 10 courses we’ve played of all time. The added amenities at Congo River included alligators which are not a plus for me but I did like the unique Urbank basketball court. Definitely a stop on our next trip to Orlando.
