I had known about Boomer’s as a large, south Florida entertainment complex for years, but had never been. The place is massive and houses a Go-Karts, 2 outdoor mini golf courses, bumper cars, bumper boats, a rock wall, lazer tag, batting cages and an arcade. On a hot afternoon, we went out for a round.
Rating:
Par – As one would expect from most things that are part of a larger chain establishment, the mini golf itself was just average. Large playing areas, water features and sloped terrains made up for the course’s aging turf and lack of character. Obnoxious, unsupervised children rushed in front of us, beating up parts of the course with their clubs as they went. It should be no surprise that the key offender was the friend of a kid sporting a bright red “Make Donald Drumpf Again” cap. So between the kids and the hot afternoon sun, I was losing my patience with Boomer’s. Perhaps giving this place a shot on quiet weekday night would have changed my attitude.
Pros
Large playing areas with lots of landscaping including waterways, caves and regional plants
Choice of two courses along with other entertainment amenities
Benches and a water fountain mid-course provided some shade and rest from the heat
Cons
Old, worn turf made for uneven and inconsistent playing surfaces
Obnoxious, unsupervised children running wild
Nerdy Notes
- Rubber covered putters
- No flags in holes
- 2 18-hole courses, No Par listed.
- $12/person
