I ran the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon (part of Grandma’s Marathon weekend) up in Duluth, MN in the morning. After the race, Mr. Tee met me in town and together we drove up scenic Highway 61 on the Lake Superior coastline to Grand Marais for a weekend retreat. We stopped at Betty’s for some delicious pie and played a round at Putt N Pets before settling into town for the evening. Can you tell I just ran 13.1 miles in the pictures?
Review:
Par – This is a pretty standard mini golf course that has been personalized with a lot of silly knick knacks and seemingly homemade decor. The place has a lot of charm, but its most unique quality is the live various animals on premise (goats, chickens, a peacock, etc.). The overall landscaping included a central pond and a large cave feature towards the end of the course. There was no over-the-top game play or standout obstacles but Putt N Pets offers lots of color, kiddie rides, gem mining and a solid 18 holes of mini golf. If you’re headed “up North” for the weekend, we recommend making a stop at this fun family attraction.
Pros:
Mom and Pop run mini golf with lots of personal touches embellishing the experience
Live goats, chickens, turkeys, peacocks and other furry friends
Kiddie rides and gem mining
Colorful, quirky and fun atomosphere
Cons:
Standard game play
Nerdy Notes:
- 18 holes, par 50
- Rubber-covered putters
- No flags in holes
- Adults: $8.50, Kids (5-12): $6.50, Some Day Replay: $4, Ages 4 and under: Free
