Drive By – Situated adjacent Fantasia Garden’s Mini Golf is a more traditionally turfed putting course called Disney’s Fantasia Fairways. After visiting/playing nearly 10 other courses over the previous three days, Pink Putter wasn’t keen on a non-themed miniaturized version of golf before hitting the road to visit her family. I’ve become more intrigued by courses with challenging play and would like to try to tackle this course on a future visit to Orlando. When push comes to shove, my preferred version of mini golf includes fun obstacles and narratives.
Overall, Fantasia Fairways is a small version of a traditional golf course designed for use with a putter. We haven’t played many putting courses but unlike most mini golf we’ve played, this course had considerably longer and more challenging play. The bulk of the holes were 100 ft in length with higher pars. The only point of comparison we have is Centennial Lakes in Minnesota but that course incorporates natural turf versus the synthetic turf used at Fairways. Give it a whirl and let us know if we should head back and play.
